White-tailed Eagle, Hokkaido, Japan

The white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla),  also known as the white-tailed sea eagle,  banks hard in flight with a fish clenched between its talons.    This species is fairly widely distributed,  being seen from Greenland through to Southern China, and not considered to be endangered.    The birds tend to be migratory,  wintering in Japan among other places.

As promised last post,  I’ll put up some more snow monkey pictures shortly.   I know,  I’m jumping back and forward between times and subjects,  yep,  I’m disorganized!       ~KD.
