As discussed in a recent blog post, I managed to visit Mt Bromo in Indonesia where, along with a lot of others, I photographed the landscape at sunrise.
Given the number of people present, I realized early that the best policy was to set up the camera in one position and make the most of the opportunity, fighting the urge to move about for different angles. There were effectively 2 shots possible. The first was the rising sun itself and the second was by aiming the camera at a right angle to the sun to capture the volcano. As I started photographing, it occurred to me that this may be a good time-lapse opportunity. I readily admit to being a bit of a novice with time-lapse work and learnt a good deal from the exercise!
