One of the closer bird encounters I had during my time in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in India was with this female Little Pied Flycatcher (Ficedula westermanni). Many of the birds that I saw were wary of getting too close and hence were a challenge to photograph. In this case, I was walking along a trail when this bird alighted on a twig quite close by seemingly unconcerned. I was careful not to make any sudden movements so as to spook her, and simply raised the camera/lens and fired off the shot.
Interesting to see the amount of detail you can capture with the current technology. Check out the small flower suspended by a single thread of spider’s web!
