A stitched panoramic
A four-shot stitched panoramic of the Maui coast. The four frames were taken from the deck of a boat with all camera settings set in manual mode for consistency. Given the inevitable issue of camera movement, a high shutter speed was essential and a looser, wider, framing of the individual shots was used to allow for cropping required to overcome stepping.
Image Processing with Lightroom
Identical processing was applied in Lightroom including, importantly, a profiled lens correction, before taking the images into Photoshop where a “merge to panorama” was performed. The image was then cropped due to the aforementioned stepping issue. For an example of stepping, see my post on the Stirling Ranges in Western Australia.
Using Silver Efex Pro
The colour stitched pano was then processed further in Silver Efex Pro where the black and white conversion was done, the contrast was increased, and a light sepia toning was used.
