Originally photographed on 35mm colour negative film, I decided to go with a high key presentation on this image. Having scanned the photo into the computer, I then pushed the white point in Lightroom to completely blow out the background and then took the image into Photoshop where I deployed the Nik Color Efex Pro plugin. In CFX, I used a soft-focus filter and pushed the greens to give the “glowing” effect you see here. I’ve spoken before about “when is a photo an illustration?” and I think this image is another example of that. ~KD.
