This image was taken from a mokoro, a timber canoe, whilst slowly navigating the waterways of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Along the water’s edge were numerous reeds some of which carried large seed heads as shown here. Taking the photo with the camera angled upwards managed to isolate a single seed head against the sky. In post-processing, I decided to adjust the exposure values to push the sky to white so as to give a simpler graphic look to the image. The colour values were also increased, again with the objective of achieving a more graphic design rather than a true documentary-like presentation. ~KD
